The pedals
Got these out of a honda civic ED (I think). Hopefully they should fit into the 100+ frame without to many mods.
Its home
Beaming and Torsion
The car is finally ready for the beaming and torsion test. Here are a couple of pics of it setup. Forgot the camera on the actual test day. So it looks like this is all I have of the test rig. From memory it was loaded with 175 kg for the torsion and beaming was 86Kg in each side.
I am still waiting for the results from the engineer but from my calcs it looks like it passed with flying colours.

Adding in the side impact
Fitting the side impact into the car. Not only does it make it strong. It is also gives the inside some nice clean lines.
The steel is 1.6 mm down the sides. Where the holes are at the back, they will be filled in with 3mm steel. Seatbelts will be goint through them. The size is well over that required by the ADR.

Fitting the engine
After two full days of measuring and moving things around finally got the engine lined up. The engine mounts were then made to fit the location of the engine. Some of the photo's are a little fuzy, lifting an engine in and out of a car 20 times in one day will do that to you. I will publish some pics of the mounts later if I remember to take them while the engine is out.

Suspension
Well a big point the the cars (I use that term loosely) life has been reached. It is now on wheels and holds its own weight. It could almost be considered a go-cart. Except there is still no where to sit.
The diff and front end are cortina TC/TD. The diff is a 2.77:1 which is a little low for my liking. I will see how it drives before considering changing it to something more respectable.
